While Airtable makes an amazing backend with a robust API, hundreds of integrations and automations - its rich text field is severly limiting and mostly incapable of producing long form content. On the other hand Notion has a full featured document editor and shares many of the same concepts as Airtable - making it possible to use a hybrid approach.
An amazing editor.
The notion page editing experience is one of the best on the market, simple and intuitive but powerful enough to create rich content that looks at home anywhere on the web. You can insert images into documents by copy pasting from the clipboad, add callouts, quotes and code blocks and link to other notion pages natively.
Page trees, depth & heirarchy.
The page tree allows you to nest pages inside each other - which is much better for organizing documents because you an create a heirarchy with ulimited depth… rather than a table structure which is flat unless you maintain a complex system of linking tables together.
Loose compatibility with Airtable.
By using buttons, formulas fields and page ids you can make notion feel like an extension of Airtable. You can also reference the same notion page multiple times without having to worry about breaking linkes, or changes to heirarchy in notion effecting your website.
